Memorial from Lucy's Mom

"I adopted Lucy when she was 6 years old. Her name at the shelter was Lady and she lived up to her original name. I thanked the person who surrendered her to the shelter every single day I had with her. She was so beautiful and so lovely and elegant. We would watch the nature shows on TV together. Her head resting on my shoulder.

Lucy taught me that there is no such thing as “unconditional love”. There is only love. She died age 18. And to this day, I say: “The honor was all mine.”"
